T. BATTULGA: "MONGOLIA MINING-2025" EXHIBITION TO BE HELD UNDER THE SLOGAN "SMARTER TECH – STRONGER MINES"

The 14th edition of Mongolia Mining-2025, the country’s premier international mining exhibition, will take place this spring from April 17 to 19 at the Buyant-Ukhaa Sports Palace. We interviewed Mr. T. Battulga, General Director of Minex Mongolia LLC, the organizer of the exhibition.

The Mongolia Mining exhibition has traditionally been considered a highly anticipated autumn event. Why is it being held in spring this time? Will this timing change going forward?

The Mongolia Mining international mining exhibition is now being organized for the 14th time. In fact, it has traditionally been held in the spring. However, due to certain demands of the sector, we temporarily switched to an autumn schedule. From this year, we are reviving the tradition of holding the event in April, just before the peak working season in the mining industry.

Could you explain the advantages and unique aspects of the Mongolia Mining-2025 exhibition?

Mongolia Mining is a long-term project. It was originally launched as a technological bridge to introduce and promote the latest global mining technology and equipment to Mongolian customers. We aim to work responsibly for the sustainable development of the mining sector for many years to come. The exhibition will keep serving as a unified marketing and trade platform that brings together leading suppliers offering the most important technologies for enhancing productivity in mining and mineral processing.

Organizing a major event like this in spring – the most active season for the mining industry – is indeed the right choice. How is the participation from major companies shaping up this year? What are the expectations surrounding the exhibition?

Each year, participant interest and anticipation continue to grow. It is our responsibility to meet these rising expectations. With the resumption of exploration license issuance after a prolonged suspension, the sector’s investment climate is showing clear signs of improvement. Companies are now actively preparing for a busy operational season, and many are looking forward to the Mongolia Mining-2025 exhibition with heightened anticipation.

Renowned international mining and financial organizations, as well as embassies based in Mongolia, take part in the exhibition every year. Who are the key participants and partners this year?

We are welcoming suppliers and investors from more than ten countries with well-developed mining sectors, including established partners from Australia, Canada, the U.S., and Kazakhstan. Major local distributors will also participate as sponsors, such as Tavanbogd Construction Machinery LLC (official distributor of Hitachi), Hera Equipment LLC (distributor of Wirtgen, Tonly, Shantui, and Weichai), and Grand Mining Equipment LLC (distributor of SANY). Additionally, many reputable organizations with years of experience in the sector will showcase their latest equipment, technologies, and services at the exhibition.

The training programs, B2B meetings, and special events held during the exhibition have consistently attracted attention. What makes these programs stand out this year?

The events held during the exhibition provide industry professionals with a valuable opportunity to gain relevant knowledge, network, and refine their skills. As always, we are organizing these events in collaboration with industry-related institutions and the Council of Professional Mining Associations (NGO).

These training sessions and programs contribute to sustainable development in mining, introduce new technologies, and offer platforms for discussions on legal and policy matters. Presentations, discussions, and open forums led by professionals also help expand business relationships.

Furthermore, the exhibition will host B2B meetings designed to explore business partnerships and investment opportunities. Participants will have the chance to meet with both local and international investors to discuss project financing and investment prospects – one of the key advantages of the event.
