An extraordinary session of the cabinet was held on June 20, during which key fiscal issues were reviewed and resolved. One of the major decisions concerned 535.9 billion MNT in project funds approved for financing from the state budget but not yet under contract. These uncommitted funds are now officially classified as budget savings.
In accordance with legislation on state savings, budget governors were instructed to reallocate these savings to the state budget. The 2025 State Budget Law had earmarked this amount for various investment projects, but due to delays or lack of contracting, the funds remained unused as of May 31, 2025. The savings include 69.9 billion MNT from the Ministry of Health, 36.6 billion MNT from urban development, 33.7 billion MNT from education, 33.4 billion MNT from roads and transportation, 19.7 billion MNT from culture, sports, and tourism, and 342.7 billion MNT from other ministries.
Minister of Finance B. Javkhlan was directed to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements by including uncontracted funds approved from local budgets in the government’s final resolution. These funds, tied to budget investment projects, are now expected to be redirected or reprogrammed in alignment with national fiscal priorities.
